Raw Diet Recipe

Delicious Apple Based Mulled Cider made with tangy orange and lemon along with maple syrup or raw honey, and spices of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and ginger.

Apple Mulled Cider

Ingredients

2 quarts apple cider or juice
1 orange, sliced
1 lemon, sliced
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup or raw honey
4 sticks cinnamon
6 whole cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon powdered ginger

Recipe Directions

In large saucepan, combine all of the ingredients. Bring mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, and simmer the cider for 30 to 40 minutes. Strain and serve hot.

Recipe Notes

Raw honey is the healthiest choice amongst the various forms of honey as it has the most nutritional value.

Pure maple syrup is a 100 percent natural food, processed by heat concentration of pure maple sap. Maple flavored syrup, commonly found on the shelves in the store and in restaurants, is actually corn syrup flavored with a bit of pure maple syrup syrup to keep the cost down. The main sugar in pure maple syrup is sucrose.
