Low Fat Recipe
Using low fat free ice cream, you can enjoy this tasty peach cooler all summer long and beyond, guilt free.
1 cup low fat buttermilk*
2 cans (16 ounce) sliced peaches, drained and chopped
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2-1/2 cups vanilla fat free or low fat ice cream
Combine buttermilk, peaches, and almond extract in container of electric blender; process until smooth. Add ice cream.
Blend 30 seconds or until smooth.
Uber Quick Peach Shake
Peel a peach. Slice peach into a blender and add a cup of peach yogurt and a few ice cubes. If desired, add some frozen, reduced-fat whipping cream. Run blender for a few seconds and you have a tasty fruit shake.
Peaches are fat free, sodium free, cholesterol free, high in vitamin A and a good source of vitamin C!
* You can substitute 2/3-cup plain low-fat yogurt or nonfat yogurt mixed with 1/3-cup milk for each cup of buttermilk needed. Or, you can put 1 tablespoon vinegar in a 1 cup measuring cup, fill with milk and let sit for five minutes.
