Low Carb Brownies
Low Carb Recipe
Low Carb Brownies with creamy butter, eggs and vanilla combined with sugar substitutes, whole wheat flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder and a bit of salt. Or, try the alternate version, which uses whey protein powder.
1/2 cup Splenda
2 teaspoons granulated sugar substitute (or 5 packets)
1/4 cup butter, melted
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
5 tablespoons whole wheat flour
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Spray an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a bowl, mix melted butter, vanilla, splenda, Sweet-n-Low, and eggs well. Add dry ingredients and stir to mix. Be careful not to overmix.
Spoon into prepared pan and wet your hands with water and press the batter out to fill the pan.
Bake for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. When the brownies pull away from the sides of the pan and are set in the middle they are done.
For a more cake-like brownie, add 2 to 3 tablespoons water to thin the batter.
Whey Protein Low Carb Brownies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 oz unsweetened chocolate
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons chocolate whey protein powder
10 packets sweetener
1 oz walnuts, chopped
3 tablespoons Gourmet Classic Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter, add eggs one at a time, beating well.
Melt chocolate with extract and water (microwave or double boiler). Add melted chocolate, and other ingredients to butter. Mix well. Taste for sweetness and add more sweetener if desired. Grease 9x9 inch baking pan. Pour batter into pan and bake 15 minutes. Total 19 carbs (13 NET carbs).
