Cheese Steak Sandwiches
Low Carb Recipe
Cheddar or Edam cheese tops these delicious Cheese Steak Sandwiches seasoned with Dijon, Worcestershire and cayenne. Serve on Atkins or other low carb bread, lightly toasted.
4 ounces Cheddar or Edam cheese
2 tablespoons butter, softened
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 dash cayenne pepper
4 slices Atkins bread, lightly toasted
1 pound deli roast beef slices (not too thinly sliced)
Heat broiler. In a food processor, process cheese, butter, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne until smooth.
Spread cheese mixture on bread slices. Arrange beef slices over cheese, leaving a thin cheese border. Arrange on broiler pan; broil 2 minutes until cheese bubbles and browns.
With deli roast beef, this is a 10 minute dinner. To make an authentic Philly cheese steak sandwich, add 1/4 of a sliced, fried onion to each sandwich.
