Low Carb Recipe

Two variations for easy barbecue sauce for chicken or ribs. Just the right amounts of Worcestershire, vinegar and sweetener.

Easy Barbecue Sauce I

1 cup tomato sauce
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon liquid smoke
3 packets sugar substitute

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over low heat for ten minutes, stirring occasionally.

Recipe makes 16-tablespoons.

Note: Nutrition date is for entire recipe, but 1-tablespoon equals 1.2 carbohydrates each.

Easy Barbecue Sauce II

1/4 cup Splenda granular
1/2 cup minced onion
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup minced green pepper
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce

Use medium saucepan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Saute onion and green pepper for five minutes. Stir in tomato sauce with vinegar, Splenda Granular and pepper. Bring to a boil. Then lower heat and simmer for ten minutes. Recipe makes four, 1/4-cup servings.
