This low carb Alfredo sauce is packed with Parmesan flavor in melted butter and heavy cream - rich and delicious. Seasoned with salt, pepper and nutmeg.

Alfredo Sauce


6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 cup Parmesan cheese - freshly grated
1/2 teaspoon salt
Ground white pepper
Dash of ground nutmeg

Place butter and cream in large skillet over medium-low heat.

Cook and stir until butter melts and mixture bubbles; cook and stir two minutes more.

Stir in salt, pepper and nutmeg. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in cheese until thoroughly blended and smooth.

Return briefly to heat to completely blend cheese, but do not let sauce bubble or cheese will become lumpy and tough.

Alfredo Sauce (Heavy Cream)

2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon fresh nutmeg, grated
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese

Heat margarine in skillet, over medium heat. Saute onion until tender. Stir in whipping cream, heat to boiling. Stir in remaining ingredients. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, Stirring often. Makes about 3-1/2 cups for 6 servings.
