Horseradish Beef uses minute steaks browned with onion in a little butter. Add gluten free soy sauce and finally, the horseradish.

Recipe Ingredients

4 cubed steaks (minute steaks)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons gluten free soy sauce
1 cup gluten free sour cream
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish
1 large onion
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup white wine

Recipe Directions

Brown steaks and onion lightly in butter in a skillet on medium heat.

Add salt, pepper, soy sauce and wine. Cover.

Simmer 35 to 40 minutes or until tender.

Combine sour cream, horseradish and dill. Stir into the steak mixture. Heat through for about four minutes.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve over gluten free noodles.
  • Serve over dill-seasoned rice.
  • Serve with nutmeg seasoned mashed potatoes.

Grated Carrots

Simple yet very healthful side dish - grated carrots, a little sugar, rice wine vinegar and salt and pepper.

1-1/2 cup grated carrots (three medium)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Peel and grate carrots. Toss with vinegar and sugar. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Let marinate for 15 to 30 minutes and serve Grated Carrots with meal.

Variation: Glazed Carrots with Nuts

Making an impressive 5-minute side dish simply doesn't get any easier than this! You can use pecans in place of the walnuts and pure maple syrup in place of the brown sugar.

Baby Carrots

3 cups baby carrots
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1-1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Put the carrots in a medium saucepan and cover them with water. Boil until they are tender but not mushy. Drain. While the carrots are draining, melt the butter in the same saucepan and add the walnuts.

Saute the nuts for 1 minute, and then add the sugar, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Stir in the carrots until they are evenly coated with the glaze. Makes 4 servings.
