Whether it be the cold days of winter or suffering a nasty winter cold, this delicious, healthy chicken noodle soup mix in a jar will make a great gift for anyone – or for yourself to keep on hand for a quick bowl of steaming hot chicken soup.

To speed preparation, keep cooked chicken frozen or purchase some from your local deli. You can use all white meat, or a combination of white and dark chicken – up to you.

Many people have told me they like to pick up an entire roasted chicken from their local grocery store deli to get a tasty blend of fresh cooked light and dark meat.

Whichever approach you use, you will be able to easily create a steaming hot bowl of delicious chicken soup!

Place below ingredients into an airtight jar:
Bowl of chicken soup from Chicken Noodle Soup Mix
1 cup uncooked fine egg noodles
1-1/2 tablespoon chicken flavored bouillon
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1/8 teaspoon celery seed
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 bay leaf

Attach this recipe to the jar:

Chicken Noodle Soup Mix

Entire contents of soup mix from the jar
8 cups water
2 carrots, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
1/4 cup minced onion
3 cups cooked diced chicken

Empty the soup mix from the jar and the water into a large stock pot. Add the carrots, celery, and onion and bring to a boil. Cover and reduced to a simmer. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Remove the bay leaf. Stir in the chicken and simmer an additional 5 minutes.
