Today we encounter pollution every single day. At work, you cannot be sure of the cleanliness of the water you drink or the food you eat. You can’t get away from air pollution because we all must breath. This can greatly affect our health in one way or another.

For these reasons, body detox is helpful in keeping a healthy body. This also results in a healthy mind and healthy relationships.

Our body has its own means of healing and detoxifying. Pollutants enter our body at a rate more than its capacity of self cleansing. This gives our inside mechanisms a difficult task to accomplish. The tissues become stressed and this can lead to malfunction.

We definitely want a clean body. To accomplish this goal, we need to help our system regulate the healing and body detox process. However, you should not wait for your body organs to be stressed out and overworked before doing the body detox. In times when the body lacks the command to keep the systems working, the person must supplement.

During a period of body detox, certain foods are avoided. Your meals consist mostly of fresh fruits and green, leafy vegetables. Fats, oil, preservatives and food additives are a big no-no when undergoing the process of body detox. Also, meat should be kept off the list because it is hard to digest.

Ideal foods that can be part of your body detox diet are as follow: Garlic, broccoli, beets, beans and nuts. Only fresh fruit extracts can be taken as beverages except for grapefruit. Water, a universal solvent, is also a major factor in the detoxification process. Strive to drink six to eight glasses of water daily. It flushes out the toxins in the forms of perspiration, urine, or your stools.

Although you seem to eat less when under going body detox, you will not starve. Ironically, many claim a boost in stamina when they detox.

How Often Should I Do a Body Detox?
