1 loaf ciabatta bread
1 1/4 cups tomato sauce
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
24 basil leaves
16 sun dried tomatoes, julienne cut
1 cup shredded Mozzarella
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cut bread into four slices and slice each in half crosswise.
In a medium bowl, mix tomato sauce, tomato paste, garlic and oregano. Spread tomato sauce on bread slices and top each slice with three basil leaves, sliced sun-dried tomatoes and about 1/4-cup cheese.
Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly and bread looks crisp around the edges, about seven to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with a dash of oregano.
Ciabatta is an Italian white bread made with wheat flour and yeast. The literal translation of the word is slipper because of its shape.
