Apple Spice Bread

Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
Two egg whites, whipped
1 cup brown sugar or honey
1/2 cup applesauce
1/3 cup skim milk
1-1/2 cup diced apples

Directions:
Preheat oven at 350-degrees. Spray a loaf pan (8 x 4 or 9 x 5- inch) with nonstick cooking spray. Combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, and clove and mix well. In another bowl, combine egg whites, brown sugar, applesauce, milk, and apples and mix well. Combine wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Pour mixture into pan and bake for 50-60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool slightly then remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.

Slice into 12 slices.

Recipe makes one loaf.
