Maple Baked Apples

Ingredients:
8 large tart red apples
1 cup pure maple syrup
16 dates
2 teaspoon grated lemon rind

Directions:
Pare top half of apples, remove cores. Place apples in a large baking dish. Stuff each one with 2 dates.

Combine maple syrup with lemon rind and a little water.

Pour over apples and bake at 375-degrees for 1 hour or until tender.

Baste with the syrup occasionally.

Serve warm or chilled.

Can be made ahead for a nice breakfast.
