Pear and Apple Saute

Low Sodium Recipe

Pears and Apples pair up along with allspice and lemon zest. Makes a great low sodium, low calorie and low fat dessert.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons unsalted butter or margarine
2 Jonathan apples, cored and cut into 1/4-inch slices
4 Bosc pears, cored and cut into 3/4-inch slices
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest , finely grated
1/8 teaspoon Salt Sense , optional
1/8 teaspoon black pepper


Recipe Directions

Pear sliced open with leaves

Melt butter in a heavy nonstick skillet over medium high heat. Saute apples two minutes, stirring frequently. Add pears and saute another two minutes. Sprinkle with remaining ingredients and saute another two to three minutes or until apples and pears are tender.
