Low Sodium Recipe
Divide these sweet Kentucky Peaches and bourbon among individual dessert dishes and toss gently with syrup.
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons crushed mint leaves
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup bourbon
4 large ripe peaches, peeled and sliced
8 fresh mint sprigs (optional)
Combine first four ingredients in a heavy saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil and cook one minute, stirring to dissolve sugar. Transfer to a bowl and stir in bourbon. Refrigerate or freeze at least ten minutes until cool.
Strain to remove mint. Divide peaches among individual dessert dishes and toss gently with syrup.
Garnish with mint sprigs before serving, if desired.
