On the Passover seder plate, haroset symbolizes the mortar used by slaves in Egypt. Haroset is one of the six traditional elements of the Passover Seder plate.

Recipe Ingredients

2 tablespoons plus 2-teaspoons dates
2 tablespoons plus 2-teaspoons raisins
2 tablespoons plus 2-teaspoons pecans
1/4 medium orange, peeled, seeded, and sectioned
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon sweet red Passover wine

Recipe Directions

Put all ingredients, except wine, in a food processor or blender and process until coarsely chopped. Add wine and process until a fine paste is formed.
