Low Sodium Recipe
You do not get much more basic than this! Just stone ground flour and water are used to make these tender biscuits.
2 cups stone ground flour
1 cup water
Mix stone ground flour with water. With floured hands, roll out dough to about 1-inch thick.
Cut into rounded biscuits about 3-inch in diameter. Poke holes in each biscuit with fork.
Place biscuits on floured cookie sheet. Bake at 400-degrees for about 40 minutes.
Why Stone Ground Flour?
There are several advantages to stone-ground wheat flour. The endosperm, bran, and germ remain in their natural, original proportions. Because the stones grind slowly, the wheat germ is not exposed to excessive temperatures.
