Low Sodium Recipe

Tender Snow Covered Almond Crescents with almond extract and oats for added nutrition. Sift powdered sugar generously over warm cookies.

Snow Covered Almond Crescents


1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1-3/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
1 cup quick or old fashioned uncooked oats
1/2 cup almonds, finely chopped

Recipe Directions

Beat butter, 3/4-cup powdered sugar and almond extract in a bowl until well blended. Add flour and salt and mix until well blended. Stir in remaining ingredients. Measure tablespoonfuls of dough and shape into crescents.

Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet about 15 minutes or until bottoms are light golden brown. Transfer to a wire rack. Sift remaining powdered sugar generously over warm cookies.

Cool completely.
