Toaster French Toast
Low Fat Recipe
Nutrition information could vary slightly depending on the type of bread you use in this tasty French toast, as well as which type of milk you use to prepare the French toast.
2/3 cup skim or 1-percent milk
1/4 cup liquid egg substitute
8 slices apple cinnamon bread or cinnamon-raisin bread
Nonstick cooking spray
Margarine or butter (optional)
Maple flavored sugar free syrup (optional)
In a shallow dish beat together the milk and eggs. Dip both sides of bread in beaten mixture. Let stand until well moistened. On a griddle or in a large nonstick skillet sprayed lightly with olive oil if necessary, cook bread in over medium-high heat about two minutes per side or until golden. Cool on waxed paper. Place in a tightly covered container and store in the refrigerator.
To serve, toast in the toaster. Serve with margarine or butter and syrup, if desired.
