Low Fat Recipe

Cool, creamy and so delicious Purple Pops! You won't have to push anyone to enjoy this healthful treats made with bananas, grape juice and non-fat yogurt.

Purple Pops


2 ripe bananas
6 ounces frozen purple grape juice concentrate
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup plain non-fat yogurt
1 tablespoon sugar

Recipe Directions

Puree all the ingredients and pour into small paper cups or popsicle molds.

If using cups, when halfway frozen, stand a wooden stick or plastic spoon in the popsicle to make a handle. When frozen solid, unmold or peel away the paper to eat.

Variation: Berry Smoothie Pops

1/2 cup orange juice
1 cup fresh blackberries
1 cup fresh raspberries
2/3 cup fresh blueberries
1 medium ripe banana, cut into chunks
1 tablespoon sugar
9 popsicle molds or paper cups (3-oz. each) and popsicle sticks

In a blender, combine the orange juice, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, banana and sugar; cover and process until blended. Fill each mold or cup with 1/4 cup berry mixture; top with holders or insert sticks into cups. Freeze.
