Low Calorie Recipe
This recipe for Maple Cookies whips up a batch of tasty maple flavored cookies with apples, sour cream and brown sugar.
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup shredded peeled tart apple
1 teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all purpose flour
1/3 cup brown sugar subsititute
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Heat oven to 350-degrees. In a mixing bowl, combine butter or margarine, sour cream, apple, eggs, maple flavoring and vanilla. Combine flour, sweeteneer, baking soda and baking powder; add to apple mixture and mix well. Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto baking sheets coated with nonstick cooking spray.
Bake at 375-degrees for nine to ten minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire racks. Store in an airtight container.
We are from the dairy state of Wisconsin and couldn't help ourselves - we made these with real butter. They are SO tasty that way! If you wish to make them this way for yourself, just adjust the calorie and fat content accordingly. It isn't that much of a difference.
