Low Calorie Recipe

Yams that taste as sweet as candy with ground nutmeg, apples and low calorie maple syrup.

Recipe Ingredients

4 pounds yams, peeled and cut in 1/2 inch slices
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 cup low calorie margarine
4 apples, thinly sliced
1 cup low calorie maple syrup

Recipe Directions

Maple Syrup Boil yams and apples until nearly done in very little boiling water. In greased baking dish, place alternate layers of drained yams and sliced apples. Sprinkle with nutmeg.

Dot the mixture with margarine or butter and drizzle with maple syrup. Pour 1/2 cup of apple water over the top.

Wrap tightly and freeze if preparing a week ahead. Bake about 30 minutes or longer if frozen.
