Low Calorie Recipe

Rice with onions, celery, and garlic cooked crisp-tender. Add pinto beans, tomato sauce, water, ketchup, chili powder, and hot pepper sauce.

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup long-grain white rice - uncooked
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
1 cup onions, chopped
1 cup celery, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced
15 ounce can pinto beans, canned, drained and washed
8 ounce can no-salt-added tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon ketchup
1 teaspooon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Recipe Directions

Bean Prepare rice according to package directions. In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions, celery, and garlic. Cook and stir until crisp-tender. Add pinto beans, tomato sauce, water, ketchup, chili powder, and hot pepper sauce. Heat thoroughly, stirring occasionally.
