Low Fat Recipe
Turkey Joes with lean ground turkey cooked with onion, garlic, green pepper, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and served on whole wheat rolls.
1 pound extra lean ground turkey breastbr>
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 medium diced green pepper
1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
1 tablespoon tomato paste
6 whole wheat rolls
Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray and place over medium heat. Add onion, bell pepper and garlic and cook for 3 minutes.
Crumble turkey into skillet and cook for 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire Sauce, tomato paste, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered 10-15 minutes or until sauce thickens. Spoon mixture onto rolls.
