Low Fat Recipe

Tender baked beans using your choice of kidney, pinto, Great Northern or any other favorite you have with tomato sauce, ham, honey, mustard and salt and pepper to taste.

Baked Beans


1 cup chopped onion
2 16-oz. cans beans, drained (kidney, pinto, Great Northern, etc.)
1 15-oz. can no salt added tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups lean ham, diced
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons honey
3 1/2 tablespoons prepared mustard
Salt and black pepper to taste

Recipe Directions

Spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick cooking spray and heat over medium heat until hot. Add onions and saute until tender. Combine onions and remaining ingredients in a baking dish and mix well.

Bake covered for 45 minutes (uncover for remaining 15 minutes for drier beans).

Recipe Note

This recipe can be made ahead and stored in an airtight container for up to three weeks in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
