Low Carbohydrate Diet
Asian Grilled Pork Chops are pork chops browned with shallots then grilled over an open fire or broiled. Serve with chive cream drizzled on top.
4 large pork chops
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 tablespoon reduced sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice wine
1-1/2 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
1-1/2 teaspoon dark soy sauce
2 teaspoons spicy barbecue seasoning
2 cloves minced garlic
In a bowl, combine fish sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, dark soy sauce, BBQ seasoning, sugar, and garlic.
Place the pork chops in a large zip-lock bag and pour in the marinade. Make sure each pork chop is coated well with the marinade. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
When ready to grill, remove the pork chops from the marinade; toss remaining marinade. Grill as you would any other pork chops.
- This recipe is also great with veal chops instead of the pork.
- The USDA amended its safe food internal temperature for cooked pork from 160 degrees to 145 degrees.
Serve with lime wedges as a garnish and a side dish of your favorite cole slaw.
