White Christmas Angel Punch With Simple Syrup

A light, low calorie, low fat and very refreshing holiday beverage, this angel punch boasts the healthful benefits of green tea.
Recipe Ingredients
1 cup simple syrup (see recipe below)
2 cups lemon juice
1 quart green tea
2 quarts club soda
2 quarts sparkling white grape juice

Recipe Directions
Chill all ingredients. Mix everything but the club soda and pour over a block of ice. Add the club soda and stir gently. Garnish with lemon and orange slices.
Simple Syrup
Because sugar does not dissolve easily in cold liquids, it is a good idea to keep this simple sugar on hand.
Ingredients:
2 cups water
2 cups sugar
Directions:
In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil.
Add the sugar and cook, stirring constantly,
until the sugar has dissolved, about 30 seconds.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer until just
slightly thickened, about five minutes. Remove
from the heat; set aside to cool. .
Recipe makes about 2-1/2-cups. Can be tightly covered and refrigerated for up to three weeks
