All Bran Refrigerator Rolls
Whole Grain Recipe
These all bran refrigerator rolls keep about a week. They make a nice light roll when refrigerated before using.
1 cup shortening
1 cup boiling water
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup all bran cereal
2 teaspoons salt
2 packages yeast
2 eggs, beaten
5 cups flour
Melt shortening into water. Add sugar, cereal and salt, then cool to lukewarm.
Soften yeast in 1 cup warm water then mix with eggs. Add to bran mixture. Add flour and beat thoroughly. Cover and let rise.
Punch down, cover and place in refrigerator until ready to use.
Form into rolls. Let rise.
Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes.
Will keep about a week. Dough is soft. Makes a lighter roll if refrigerated before using.
