Whole Grain Recipe
Flour and cornmeal team up with milk, Cheddar cheese, green onion and bacon drippings for one fantastic cheesy cornbread.
1 cup flour
1 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 cup Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onion
2 tablespoons bacon drippings
Combine first four dry ingredients.
Whisk together milk and egg. Stir into dry ingredients to moisten. Stir in cheese and green onion.
Heat bacon drippings and pour into batter.
Pour batter into iron skillet or baking dish that has been greased.
Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until done.
