Garlic and Parsley Bread
Whole Grain Recipe
An incredibly healthful bread made with wheat germ and wheat bran with minced garlic and parsley. This is a yeast bread. This bread is a great "to-go-with" for soups, pastas or even used as sandwich bread for grilled cheese, etc.
1-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 cups bread flour
3 tablespoons wheat germ
3 tablespoons wheat bran
1-3/4 teaspoons salt
1-1/2 tablespoons sugar
1-1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cloves garlic; minced
2 tablespoons fresh chopped parsley
1-1/4 cups water
Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your bread machine manual.
Process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturers directions.
Let the loaf cool before slicing.
Serve plain or toasted.
Parsley is an excellent source of vitamin C, iodine, iron, and other minerals. Quite often parsley is left on a plate to become the last bite, as it tends to sweeten the breath. See more at: The Nutritional Power of Parsley
