Almond Poppy Seed Tea Bread

Vanilla and almond flavor with crunchy poppy seeds team up to make this delicious tea bread topped off with a nice orange glaze.

Recipe Ingredients

3 cups flour
2-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3 eggs
1-1/2 cups milk
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons oil
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1-1/2 teaspoons almond flavoring
1/4 cup poppy seeds

Recipe Directions

Almonds ORANGE GLAZE:

  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Directions:
Blend all ingredients until well blended.

Pour into greased tins. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Heat all glaze ingredients until sugar melts. Brush on cooled breads with a pastry brush. Allow glaze to harden before wrapping. Enjoy!

Whole Grain Bread Slices Recipe Yields: 2 large loaves, 3 medium or 4 small loaves Almond Poppy Seed Tea Bread.
