Jazz up Chocolate Cake

Chocolate Cake

Frost chocolate cake with a pretty pink cherry-flavored seven-minute frosting. Simply substitute the liquid from maraschino cherries for the water called for in your recipe. Then fold in 1/3 cup well drained chopped cherries into the finished frosting.

Another tasty idea is to add 1/2 to 3/4 cup mini chocolate chips or even some peanut butter chips or white chocolate chips to the batter. Blend the chips with about 1/4 cup of dry dough to prevent them from sinking to the bottom of the cake.

When making chocolate cake, use cocoa instead of flour to coat your cake pan. This will keep the cake from having white flour "dust" on it when you remove it from the pan.

To intensify the rich flavor of chocolate cake (or chocolate desserts), add 1/2 to 1-teaspoon of instant coffee granules to the recipe.

So simple but can add a unique taste: Add 2 teaspoons of your favorite flavored extract!
