Root Beer/Cola Float Candle Recipe

You will need the following:

Paraffin container wax (A high meltpoint wax like IGI1554)
Deep Bowl (An old glass bowl works well)
Ice Cream Scoop
Wax Paper
Medium sized wick for gel candles
Cola glass
Liquid Candle Dye
Medium Density Gel

Melt the paraffin wax. Pour into a deep glass bowl and let cool. When cool enough to handle (wax will have a mushy feel all the way through it), take an ice cream scoop and pack the wax into the scoop. You will need two scoops of wax for this candle. Lay the scoops of wax "ice cream" out on the wax paper. Cut one of the scoops in half and in the whole scoop, put a hole in it with a skewer for the wick to be placed. Put in the refrigerator to cool.

Put the medium sized wick into the glass.

Melt the gel. Add gel safe scent and liquid candle dye. Pour some cooled gel into the glass. The gel will have the consistency of syrup.

Add one of the halves of the ice cream ball to one side of the wick. You may have to trim some of the wax off the scoop to get it to fit the glass. Let it cool a bit.

Add more gel and then the other half of the ice cream ball on the other side of the wick.

Add more gel and let cool. When gel is almost solid, put wick through the whole ice cream ball for the top.
