Taco Chips
This is a healthy alternative to store-bought chips.
Serve them with alongside a guacamole or salsa.
Ingredients:
12 corn tortillas
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine garlic powder, onion
powder, chili powder and cayenne pepper; transfer to
a large, shallow rimmed plate.
Spray each tortilla with vegetable cooking spray.
Dredge each tortilla through the spice mixture, then
cut into eight pie-shaped pieces (a pizza wheel works
well for this). Place on a baking sheet and cook for
seven minutes on each side.
Remove from oven and serve warm.
Cooking Tips
To reduce fat content even further, brush the tortillas
with lightly beaten egg whites rather than spraying them
with cooking spray.
Recipe makes eight servings.
