A nice change of pace from eggnog, this Orange Banana Nog boasts all healthful ingredients including orange juice, banana and skim milk. Finished beverage is sprinkled with nutmeg.
Bananas contain three natural sugars: Sucrose, fructose and glucose. Combine this with the fiber in a banana and you get an instant, sustained boost of energy.
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup egg substitute
1 small banana, sliced<br> 2-1/2 tablespoons measurable sweetener (such as Stevia)
Place orange zest in bottom of coffee pot. Brew coffee, using cold water and espresso; cool to room temperature. Strain coffee and discard orange zest; stir in measurable sweetener and milk. Refrigerate until chilled.
Process all ingredients, except nutmeg, in blender or food processor until smooth; pour into glasses. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg.
