Amaranth Baking Powder Bread

Amaranth flour along with brown rice of whole wheat flour, sea salt, soymilk or water and a bit of honey for sweetening make up this tender, gluten free bread.

Recipe Ingredients

1 cup amaranth flour
1-1/2 cup brown rice flour OR whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon Gluten-Free Baking Powder
1 tablespoon sea salt (optional)
1 cup milk OR soymilk OR water
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons unrefined vegetable oil
IF USING RICE FLOUR:
2 egg whites, beaten

Recipe Directions

Amaranth Grain Mix dry and liquid ingredients separately; beat egg whites, then combine all ingredients.

Pour batter into well-oiled 8-inch x 4-inch bread pan.

Bake at 350 degrees about 45 minutes.

Cool 10 minutes before removing Amaranth Baking Powder Bread to rack. Recipe makes one, 8-inch loaf.
