Pitted dates, raisins and orange juice make up the fruity flavors while sunflower seeds and ground nuts add a nice crunch. If you prefer citrus flavored fruits, we've added a bonus recipe: Sunny Citrus Cubes! The tangy flavors of grapefruit and orange pair up with walnuts to make a tasty treat.

Recipe Ingredients

1/2 cup raisins, chopped
1/2 cup dates, chopped
1/2 cup prunes, chopped
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
3/4 cup melted Carob chocolate

Recipe Directions

Melt Carob over hot water. Mix together well.

Line a shallow pan with sunflower seed meal, finely chopped nuts, or coconut and spread candy in.

Dust top with more of the lining material. Chill.

When set, cut into bars and wrap in wax paper.

 

Sunny Citrus Cubes

Recipe Ingredients

4 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
3/4 cup unsweetened grapefruit juice
2 cups unsweetened orange juice, boiling
1 teaspoon orange extract
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Recipe Directions

Soften gelatin in grapefruit juice. Add orange juice, orange extract and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Pour into 8-inch square pan. Chill until partially set. Sprinkle with walnuts if you wish. Yield:  16 pieces, 2-inch x 2-inch
