Chili Spaghetti Recipe

Just plain healthy recipe...

Satisfying chili spaghetti with lean ground round and spaghetti seasoned with a spicy chili seasoning mix. Add tomatoes, kidney beans and cheese.

Recipe Ingredients

1 pound lean ground round
1 packet spicy chili seasoning mix
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 can kidney beans, undrained
8 ounces spaghetti, cooked according to package and kept warm
1 cup hredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions

Spoonful of chili powder

Cook ground round in large skillet until crumbled and no longer pink; drain if necessary.

Stir in seasoning, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and beans.

Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for ten minutes.

Serve over hot pasta; sprinkle with reduced fat cheese.

Home Made Chili Seasoning Mix

1 tablespoon chili powder
2 teaspoons onion powder
1 teaspoon each ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, powdered oregano and sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Makes 3 tablespoons of seasoning mix, which is equal to a one-quarter ounce package of commercial seasoning mix.
