Guilt-Free Hot Fudge Sundae Recipe
Just plain healthy recipe...
A truly guilt-free hot fudge sundae with non-sweetened cocoa powder and sugar free syrup over vanilla frozen yogurt. This cool and creamy treat is very low in sodium, too!
1 tablespoon non-sweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon sugar free chocolate syrup
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup low fat vanilla frozen yogurt
In a small saucepan, stir together the cocoa powder, maple syrup and cornstarch until smooth. Stir in the water.
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat to medium. Stir for one minute or until the mixture thickens slightly.
Remove from the heat and stir in the pure vanilla extract.
Serve hot over the frozen yogurt.
Recommended: Torani Sugar Free Chocolate Syrup - Chocolate without the guilt! This sugar free chocolate syrup is sweetened with Splenda. It's rich, it's smooth and you'd never know there calories are nil if Torani hadn't told. According to Torani's, you can also use this syrup in mochas, steamers and iced coffees. (Note: We have no affiliation with Torani's. Just an informational mention and referral.)
Did You Know?
The Ice Cream Sundae wasn't officially christened until about 1890 when an Ithaca, NY, pharmacist, whose store had an ice cream counter, put a cherry on top and advertised his new dish as The Sundae.
