Stove Top Dinner Recipe
Just plain healthy recipe...
A healthy stove top dinner with lean ground round, elbow macaroni, vegetables, tomato sauce and zesty seasonings. The tomatoes and tomato sauce are packed with healthful lycopene!
1 pound lean ground round, browned and drained
1 7-oz. package elbow macaroni, cooked and drained
1 cup finely chopped celery
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup finely chopped onion
2 cups thinly sliced carrots
1 28-oz. can diced tomatoes, not drained
1 8-oz. can diced tomatoes, not drained
1 teaspoon dark chili powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Combine all ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for thirty minutes.
Add water to thin if desired.
Serving suggestion: Top with a dollop of sour cream. If you're watching your fat intake, use the reduced or non-fat varieties.
