Baked French Toast Recipe
Just plain healthy recipe...
This delicious Baked French Toast recipe is baked in the oven to tender goodness. Its secret is that it has maple syrup incorporated inside.
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
8 slices French bread, 1-inch thick
1/2 cup skim milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 cups strawberries
Spray 12 x 8-inch pan with nonstick cooking spray. Pour syrup in dish (coat bottom). Arrange bread in single layer. Combine milk, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, allspice in 2-cup measure. Whisk.
Pour milk mixture evenly over bread, coating completely. Cover dish with plastic wrap, pressing wrap directly onto bread. Refrigerate overnight.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve topped with strawberries and powdered sugar.
