Overcoming Weight Loss Excuses - We often make excuses when it comes to losing weight. Because of this, we stop ourselves from doing our diet routine, gain more weight and get disappointed in the end. How do you stop making those excuses?

Fitness Tip

Play Mind Games
Be sure to flex your mind muscles to keep your brain young. The ability to process information can always be improved, no matter your age. Any activity that stimulates your brain will do: solve crossword and Sodoku puzzles, play board and card games and read. One study of mentally intact adults in their 70s and 80s found that those who did the most activities requiring mental engagement were half as likely to develop mild cognitive impairment as those who did few such activities.

Corn Syrup Scare
There have been reports regarding high fructose corn syrup and its "dangers", but in truth, in the end: sugar is sugar - and corn syrup is just like sugar. Whether it's table sugar, corn sugar, brown sugar or honey, it can be part of a healthy diet. The Food and Drug Administration has even called corn sugar "natural." So be wary of alarmist claims against corn sugar. According to a study declaring a "gasp" factor that there is mercury in high-fructose corn syrup (Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy), reading the fine print also informs you that you would have to drink 181,797 cans of Coke to be exposed to the same amount of elemental mercury that they claim is in corn syrup. That would equal the size of a period at the end of a sentence. Also note: One liter of clean and safe drinking water contains more mercury than any of the grocery products IATP tested.
