Fruit for Your Brain
Apples, bananas and oranges are great for your head. Antioxidants in these fruits could protect brain cells from oxidative stress, which can contribute to memory loss annd diseases like Alzheimer's, according to a study in the Journal of Food Science. The research on rats showed that fruit extracts seemed to protect brain neurons from damage. Apples may offer the best defense. But eating more than five portions a day of a variety of fruits and vegetables will help safeguard your brain.
Nutrition Tip
Kiwifruit
Named for New Zealand's flightless kiwi bird, these fuzzy fruits (berries, actually) fly to the top of the list as the most nutrient-dense fruits of all. Two have more potassium than a banana, twice the vitamin C and fiber of a small orange, plus folate, magnesium, vitamin E, copper and lutein.

Tidbit(s)
Storing Medications
Drugs age prematurely from the humidity and temperature swings in the room where you shower. Keep all oral medications in a cool, dry place, such as an upper shelf in your hall closet.
Food Fixes
When packing food into freezer bags, be sure to remove as much air as possible to retain freshness.
Buy local produce in season whenever possible. The more distance produce travels, the more handling it undergoes, the greater the risk of contamination.
Tasty Tidbit...
Spread graham crackers with a thin layer of low-fat cream cheese. For sweetness, add slices of banana and kiwifruit.
