Things to Avoid When Dieting - Dieting is not always easy. In fact, it can prove a tough challenge for many people. So here's a little guide to avoiding things that could make you lose control and start eating.
Fitness Tip
Stretching (Weight Bearing or Nonweight Bearing)
Stretching may help you:
- Be more flexible.
- Feel more relaxed.
- Improve posture.
Keep your muscles from getting tight after doing other physical activities. You do not have to set aside a special time or place to stretch. At home or at work, stand up, push your arms toward the ceiling, and stretch. Stretch slowly and only enough to feel tightness—not until you feel pain. Hold the stretch, without bouncing, for about 30 seconds. Do not stretch cold muscles. Yoga and tai chi are two types of stretching. They help you breathe deeply, relax, and get rid of stress. Bottled Green Teas
ChromaDex laboratories analyzed 14 different bottled green teas for levels of disease-fighting catechins. Honest Tea Green Tea with Honey topped the charts with an impressive 215 milligrams of total catechins. However, some products weren't even close. For example, Republic of Tea Pomegranate Green Tea had only 8 milligrams, and Ito En Teas' Tea Lemongrass Green had just 28 milligrams, despite implying on its label that the product is packed with antioxidants.

Tidbit(s)
Just a Spoonful of Chocolate?
A study from Johns Hopkins University shows chemicals in cocoa beans act like aspirin in preventing blood clots. Just a little bit (as little as 2-tablespoons -- the average amount study participants consumed) -- may offer heart-healthy benefits. Two new chocolate fixes on the market: Green and Black's organic 1.2-ounce "Impulse" bars; each of the three varieties is 190 calories or less. And Larabar's Jocalat (180 calories, 5 grams of fiber), which blends organic cocoa powder with nuts, dried fruit and natural flavors.
Food Fixes
Order Smart. Enjoy your eggs Benedict over whole grain toast, and skip the hollandaise or have it on the side and just use a tiny amount.
Nail polish stains? Rub nails with a lemon slice until the stain lifts. Lemon's acidity helps break down polish pigments, and its antioxidants brighten nails.
Tasty Tidbit...
To reduce the salt in over-salted soups and stews add a chunk of raw potato to absorb some of the excess salt.
