Fitness Tip

Endurance Aerobics
To sustain endurance, you must be able to consume oxygen efficiently and transport it to muscles. The word "aerobics" is derived from the adjective "aerobic," which means "Living in oxygen". The more oxygen you consume, the greater your energy, or output. It only takes 30 minutes of collective exercise each day to help prolong your life. Incorporate movement into your day by taking the stairs instead of the elevator or walking to a collegue's office rather than e-mailing or calling. See also: The Benefits of Aerobic Exercise

Nutrition Tip

Trans Fat Equal Weight Gain?
Researchers at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine recently discovered that they can make you gain weight faster than other kinds of total fat, particularly around your middle. The American Heart Association now recommends limiting trans fats to fewer than 1 percent of your daily calories. How do you do that? Read food labels -- trans fats are now listed on all packaged foods. And steer clear of trans-fat heavy weights such as restaurant made French fries, packaged cookies, and store-bought cakes and cupcakes.
