How HGH Supplements Work  Human growth hormone, also called somatotropin, is a protein hormone of 190 amino acids (building blocks of protein) that is created and secreted by the anterior pituitary gland. It has two types of effects, both of which are highly beneficial to the vital, active human body.

Late Night Workouts Hit the Suburbs
Gyms in the suburbs are starting to pull all-nighters just like big-city cousins New York Sports Club and 24-Hour Fitness. The Wisconsin Athletic Club in West Allis, a suburb of Milwaukee, is open around the clock. And two megagym chains plan to open 24-hour locations in the suburbs over the next year: X-Sport Fitness will open clubs outside of Chicago, and Lifetime fitness will hit towns near Atlanta, Austin, and Omaha. This is great for 2nd shifters and night-owls to get their workouts in on their own time schedule.

Going Green?
Are you interested in the impact animal agriculture has on the planet? If so, you can learn more by going to GoVeg.com and clicking on "The Environment" link. One point it mentions comes from a United Nations report about livestock production that says, "Raising animals for food...is one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global". This is a great information resource if you're interested in this topic.

Overtime Overload
Although logging extra hours at the office may put extra cash in your pockets, it takes a toll on your health. Research shows that working extra hours may increase the risk of occupational injuries and illnesses, regardless of job type. In a study, people whose occupations required frequent overtime were 61 percent more likely to become injured or sick. Stick to a 40-hour workweek whenever you can. See also: Men and Job Stress.

Food Fixes

The USDA reported in 2006 that "widespread pollution, high pest infestations, and a long history of heavy chemical fertilizer and pesticide use make growing crops organically difficult in most areas of China". Watch out for foods imported from China.

Buy unwaxed cucumbers, so you can eat the skin (full of fiber and vitamins A and C) without eating the waxy coating.

Tasty Tidbit: For fall soups, try a tablespoon of pine nuts or pumpkin seeds in your soup dishes.
