Two carcinogens -- heterocyclic amines and benzopyrene -- form in well-done grilled meat. University of Minnesota researchers found that adults who ingested the highest amounts of these chemicals had up to 2.4 times the risk of pancreatic cancer compared with people who consumed the least. Speak Up for Grains
The nutrition group Oldways has started a new grassroots campaign called "Just Ask for Whole Grains". The idea is to ask for whole grains wherever you go, from brown rice to whole wheat crust at your favorite Pizza Place. Oldways also wants you to nominate your favorite places that are already offering whole grain options; you (and the restaurant) might win a prize. There's even an official Whole Grains Report Card that lets you tell a restaurant's management that you want your whole grains.

Food Fixes

Try mayonnaise to take white water rings off wood. Spread it over the affected area and wipe off. For a deep-set ring, you may have to let the mayo soak into the spot overnight.

Use olive oil to shine plant leaves. A little dab on a paper towel wiped over the leaves will make plants look great.
