Speak Up for Grains
The nutrition group Oldways has started a new grassroots campaign called "Just Ask for Whole Grains". The idea is to ask for whole grains wherever you go, from brown rice to whole wheat crust at your favorite Pizza Place. Oldways also wants you to nominate your favorite places that are already offering whole-grain options; you (and the restaurant) might win a prize. There's even an official Whole Grains Report Card that lets you tell a restaurant's management that you want your whole grains.

Food Fixes

Use olive oil to shine plant leaves. A little dab on a paper towel wiped over the leaves will make plants look great.

Replacing some of the ground meat in a recipe with shredded carrots is an easy way to lower fat and add nutrients.
