Fitness Tip

Perfect Posture
Here are the five steps to perfect posture:
1. Pull your shoulder blades back slightly toward each other and down away from your ears.
2. Lift your chest up and out.
3. Pull your head back just enough to keep it in line with your spine.
4. Position your pelvis or hips to create or maintain a natural arch in your lower back.
5. Pull your belly button in toward your spine without changing or tilting your hips or losing the arch in your lower back.

Nutrition Tip

Chocolate Calcium?
Adora, a 500-milligram calcium supplement that looks and tastes just like chocolate. The supplements satisfy your candy craving, and they are only 30 calories each. Plus, they are infused with calcium (eating just two a day will meet your daily requirement) and vitamins D and K, which help you absorb calcium. Bags of 30 are available for about $7.99 at Target, Whole Foods Market, and Wild Oats stores and online at http://www.adoracalcium.com.

Restaurants Helping Those with Food Allergies
According to the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, more than 11 million Americans -- about 1 in 25 people -- suffer from food allergies. And restaurant are starting to take notice. The chef at Chicago's Bistro 110, whose young son has a severe peanut allergy, recently launched a program to make entrees safe for any diner. The restaurant's waiters are trained by the local Children's Memorial Hospital and are required to ask customers about any food allergies. Waiters share the information with the kitchen staff, and each meal is customized to ensure a safe, enjoyable dining experience. Other restaurants are making similar changes: Nationwide chains Outback Steakhouse, Maggiano's Little Italy, and P.F. Chang's China Bistro offer gluten-free menus to diners who suffer from wheat allergies. See also: Gluten Free Recipes

Food Fixes

Never rinse pasta unless it will be baked or served cool in a salad. Starches clinging to the surface of the noodles help them meld with the sauces.

Add salt to water when cooking pasta sparingly; your sauce will be adding plenty of flavor.

Create do-it-yourself frozen dinners by placing leftovers in sectioned microwaveable containers and freezing them.
