Don't just stand -- stretch!
It's easy to fit stretching into your day; try these 3 tips. Practice some stretches while waiting in shopping lines. Simple neck and shoulder rolls are a great way to release stress and relax tight muscles. And make use of the stairs -- a great tool for stretching out your calves. How important is it to stretch? Nutrition Tip

Garlic

Garlic helps fight heart disease. It contains sulfur compounds, which scientists suspect inhibit the formation of artery-clogging blood clots. It may reduce both elevated blood cholesterol and blood pressure. Raw garlic also kills bacteria and fungi, making it a natural antibiotic. Roasting transforms garlic into an almost buttery substance that makes a great fat-free spread for bread or addition to dips. To roast, wrap a garlic head in aluminum foil and bake at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.

Quick Recipe

Pita Pocket
Stuff half of a whole-wheat pita pocket with one slice of 2-percent cheese, two slices of deli-style turkey breast and salsa. Serve with your favorite fruit and a bottle of low calorie drink mix.

Tidbit(s)

Bloated?
Try this natural remedy next time you feel bloated: Try a mixture of water and mint leaves! Water and mint leaves, or peppermint tea as well, will relax your abdominal muscles and help release gas build up. Either beverage will also help move food through your stomach.

Food Fixes

Another idea to prevent crying from onions: Place the onion(s) in the freezer for four to five minutes before peeling. Each onion skin should slip right off, and your eyes should stay dry.

Add one ounce of nuts to your steamed vegetables to make them more satisfying.

To avoid the sticky mess of brownies and bar cookies use aluminum foil to line the pan. Extend the foil over two sides like flaps. Grease the foil as directed in the recipe. When the brownies are done, use the foil flaps to simply lift the brownies out of the pan!
