Acid Reflux
Eating foods high in dietary fiber is a topic that is getting a lot of attention lately. And if you have acid reflux disease or GERD, you may want to be sure you are paying attention. That is because a recent study of almost 1000 participants found that a diet that was high in fiber was associated with fewer unpleasant acid reflux symptoms like heartburn or regurgitation. Researchers are not sure exactly why fiber has such a positive effect on acid reflux symptoms, but to be sure you are doing everything you can to manage heartburn, eat plenty of fiber on a daily basis.

Chicken Stir-Fry
Cook sliced skinless chicken breasts (a pound for four) with a little reduced-fat Italian dressing in a large non-stick skillet on medium heat for five minutes. Add frozen stir-fry vegetables (a handful per person) and about 1/2-cup more dressing and a few dashes of light soy sauce. Cook and stir until vegetables are tender-crisp. FDA Proposes Health Claim for Calcium, Vitamin D
FDA is proposing a rule that would allow new health claims indicating the potential for foods and dietary supplements containing calcium and vitamin D to reduce the risk of osteoporosis. Adding vitamin D to the proposed claim updates an existing approved health claim showing the relationship between calcium intake and osteoporosis.
