Work Your Skin

Also be sure to prevent sun damage to your face by using a facial moisturizer that contains sunscreen; be sure to use one that is at least SPF 15. Sun can be equally as harsh on your skin in the winter as it is in the summer, so practice skin protection habits year-round.

Roast up some pumpkin seeds for a heart-healthy treat. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a healthy fat that reduces inflammation, improves blood vessel health, and has beneficial effects on blood fats. For extra flavor, before roasting toss the seeds with a tiny bit of olive oil and a few spices, such as garlic, cayenne pepper, or lemon pepper.

Quick Recipe

Spaghetti with Marinara Sauce and Fresh Tomatoes
Cook 12 ounces spaghetti according to directions; drain. Coarsely chop two fresh tomatoes and stir into three cups store-bought marinara sauce and heat. Just before tossing with spaghetti, add one-half teaspoon red pepper flakes and one-half cup shredded part skim mozzarella. Serve with romaine salad and garlic bread for a well-rounded meal.
